Hey there \u2014 I\u2019m Nyla Armstrong<\/strong>\u2026 not my real name, but definitely my real mess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m a 50-year-old woman living in the unforgiving heat of the Desert Southwest<\/strong>, where air conditioners don\u2019t just matter \u2014 they\u2019re the difference between survival and sweat-soaked breakdowns. Ours is 20 years old and hanging on for dear life. Same, AC\u2026 same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been married for over two decades to a man I\u2019m pretty sure is delightfully neurodivergent. We\u2019re empty nesters<\/strong>, but I also take care of my 85-year-old father<\/strong>, who still runs circles around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m an entrepreneur at heart<\/strong>, but my main gig has been working as a real estate agent<\/strong> \u2014 and lately, that\u2019s felt like shouting into the void. Between high interest rates and nervous buyers, real estate is a ghost town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I drive for Veyo<\/strong>, DoorDash<\/strong>, and even work as a medical courier<\/strong> to help pay the bills. We live modestly. Our Lexus has over 250,000 miles, the truck\u2019s not much newer, and our home<\/strong>, bought decades ago, has now become the only thing keeping us afloat \u2014 after a business deal crashed and forced us to leverage it to survive<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and did I mention I have a chronic illness made worse by stress<\/strong>? Perfect combo with bankruptcy, right? Between medical bills<\/strong>, side hustles, and trying to pretend like we\u2019re fine… we\u2019re definitely not<\/em> fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I Started This Bankruptcy Blog<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Because when I finally admitted we needed to file Chapter 7 bankruptcy<\/strong>, I looked online for stories that were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Honest<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Not shame-based<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • And didn\u2019t make me feel like trash<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    I found people talking and asking questions on Reddit or Quora but no real websites besides Lawyers or Credit repair Specialist nothing else for people like me. So I\u2019m sharing my own story \u2014 in real time<\/strong>. From hiring a bankruptcy attorney to (hopefully) discharge, I\u2019m documenting every part of it here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
